its the twenty-eighth roza already! i cant believe it, i SO cant believe it. i mean i thor this ramadan wud be a hard and long one given the awful weather, but God, how wrong i was. it has been anything BUT long. the rozas did seem to be pretty tough especially on hot university days and with no electricity, and yet it seems ramadan JUST began. i mean i havent even had pheni ONCE the entire season!!! thats so not fair.....i means this is the ONLY time of the year when u can see stacks and stacks of phenis in the bakeris, wesey i have always wondered, how do they stack them in such an impeccable manner always and everywhere? khair, i didnt have them earlier on coz i was being picky abt *oily* food. but what the heck? cant u just indulge urself every once in a while? khair, the point being, i HAVENt had pheni this time and ramadan are *almost* over.
is it eid tomorrow in NWFP? dunno. the last i heard, the ruet-e-hilal comittee was having their 'ijlaas'. whats all the hoohaa every year abt NWFP being a day or 2 ahead of the rest of us? isnt it just fair for them to celebrate the start and end of the month in accordance to whenever they sight the moon? that doesnt make it obligatory on us to follow. anyway...
....the bazaars are finally brimming with human traffic. they should seriously have human traffic signals on busy thoroughfares like that of tariq road, bahadurabad etc. ppl just bump and push, bump and push, bump and push endlessly. and if u have been not-s0-intelligent enough to complete ur eid shopping before hand, than be my guest and endure/enjoy it all =D
now that ramadan are almost over, we'll all be going back to what we did. someone yesterday was telling me their plans for the eid day- a whole day of movies, partying/dancing, loud music etc etc. ironic isnt it? it's as if we are celebrating the end of a torture period that limits us from doing all that. where did the notion of 'ramadan is a training period for the rest of the year' go? hmmmm?? *wonders*
