"Cartoon clash of civilization"i really liked Bina Shah's article on the cartoon controversy here.
i myself have been quite disturbed over the whole episode having now seen the caricatures, though i admit i really shouldnt have seen them considering that it made my blood boil! so much for freedom of expression! what about hurting the sentiments of millions of muslims all over the globe?? then they should have freedom of expression to express their anger in whatever way they choose to. No?
i dunno, I am confused...... is it really a question of freedom of expression?
and yes i do think the best way to show anger is an economic boycott of those countries. Saudi Arab is right in boycotting Danish goods, we should follow suit. because as Bina says in her article, in todays capitalist world the only way to crumple the enemy is an economic boycott.
